Sixt rental process goes fully digital with new app
Sixt has become the first mobility company in Europe to digitalise the entire car rental process.
Through Sixt rent, the Sixt app becomes a digital counter.
Already today, customers can select their vehicle digitally at top airports in Germany up to 30 minutes before the start of the rental period, go to the car park without making a detour to the counter and open the vehicle directly via the Sixt app.
In 2019, this service is to be gradually expanded to other airports in Europe and the USA as well as selected locations in urban areas.

“With the digital key on the smartphone, we revolutionise the rental process and give our customers more time.
“With Sixt rent, Sixt is once again outperforming its competitors.”
As the market leader in the car rental sector in Germany, with approximately 240,000 vehicles worldwide, Sixt has the perfect starting point for the integration of further products.
In addition, Sixt plans to consistently expand its network of more than 2,200 stations worldwide.

“For this reason, we are investing in connecting our vehicles with our own internet of things platform.

“By doing so, Sixt will offer car sharing in the medium-term at a minimum of 500 locations in Germany and at more than 2,200 locations worldwide.”
