Hertz Global Holdings has announced that the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands are now all operating in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. The news comes following the signing of a multi-brand partnership agreement with local franchise partner Andrew The Car Rental Company.

Europcar Group has agreed to acquire Buchbinder, one of the largest car rental companies in Germany. Germany is the largest country for the Europcar Group in terms of revenues and through the acquisition of Buchbinder the company intends to significantly improve its penetration of the low cost segment.

Europcar has announced results for the first quarter 2017, revealing the group generated revenues of €439.3 million during the period. This is up 6.6 per cent at constant exchange rates compared with the first quarter of 2016.
